But today many layout decissions are driven by economical reasons and unprinted paper is a waste of money – many editors think. But, like a paspartout of a photo or the frame of a painted picture, margins seperate the content of a book from the surrounding of the reader, so he can "dive" into it and is able to enjoy the text.There are some other reasons why margins are vital for a good reader experience. I found this articel on this issue on "I love Typography" which gives you a better understanding, why margings are important. So – make them bigger.<a

Of course our characters and thoughts but also our bodies. We are getting older and our body changes its look – like nature. It seems that Mathilde Roussels thought the same. Her installation "Lifes of Grass" shows these processes. She plants grass seeds on a framework made out of metal. The grass grows on the framework and depicts the changes as it grows.<a

Still creating a versatile, functional yet distinctive font is a challenge and only a handfull of type designers have the ability to design such fonts.One of them is Dieter Hofrichter. He is a professional type designer since 1989 and worked with Günter Gerhard Lange at H. Berthold AG for a long time. In 2010 he founded his on type foundry near Munich, Germany. His aim is to develop new interpretations of classical types with all the new functionality of OpenType but also to design new contemporary fonts.<a
